PortraitJames Martin, Ed.D.

James is an established educator with combined experience in secondary and postsecondary levels. He started his career in education in 2006 working for Lake Sumter State College, where James still teaches mathematics and astronomy courses. Dr. Martin joined Lake County Schools as a full time mathematics instructor at Mount Dora High School in early 2011. In 2012, James transitioned into developing and teaching the Game and Simulation courses at Lake Minneola High School. Since joining the Lake County Schools team, Dr. Martin has served in a number of roles throughout the county, serving in both instructional and leadership capacities. In late 2018, he joined the Grand Canyon University family to teach courses in education to current and future educators. In his spare time, James enjoys traveling the world, exploring new cultures, and actively engaging in outdoor activities.
